His areas of expertise are in NF-κB signaling and the regulation of skeletal myogenesis and muscle disorders. He served as the lead organizer of the 1st-4th cancer cachexia conferences and has also chaired the Gordon conference on Myogenesis in 2017.

Marie Fallon, Co-Chair
Marie Fallon, M.D. is a Professor and Chair of Palliative Medicine and Supportive Care, at the University of Edinburgh, UK. Imed Gallouzi, Co-Chair
Imed Gallouzi, Ph.D. is a Professor and Associate Chair in the Biochemistry Department and at the Goodman Cancer Center, at McGill University. His main research interests are focused on muscle fiber formation and muscle related diseases such as cancer cachexia. His recent contribution to the field opened the door to establish a link between posttranscriptional regulation of gene expression and the onset of cancer cachexia. He held a Canada Research Chair in cellular information from 2002 to 2012 and he is a panel member of several national and international granting agencies. He has been involved in organizing several international meetings in the field of posttranscriptional regulation of gene expression and their link to diseases such as cancer.
